Through many years experience in the industry Gary has learnt the skills with which to hone his craft. He began his career in Whangarei in 1970 with a local architect, followed by some time in London working for two large building companies. This gave him a solid grounding in various design and construction methods across a broad range.
Returning to Whangarei in the 1980’s he established his own practice and has consistently provided a high quality, personal plan service to many repeat clients. Although his work covers all areas of design and draughting, Gary has a special flair for residential work and in particular additions and alterations. More recently he has developed his expertise in the design of coastal dwellings.
A job commences after the initial consultation with sketches or concept plans. These are then discussed and fine-tuned before moving on to working drawings and specifications. Gary will act on behalf of the client as Agent to liaise with local authorities and obtain all consents & permits. He has been a professional member of ADNZ (Architectural Designers NZ Inc) since 1994 and he is assisted in the business by his wife, Káren.
“Success is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well.”
